FAQs

Can I access the river?

Yes you can however the river is a 'enter at your own risk' basis. Wellspace is not liable for any person(s) whom leave the property boundary. We do encourage safety first so keep an eye out for boats and each other if you are going for a swim.

Can I bring alcohol?

We are a no open consumption event. We encourage you to participate in the experience sober as you get a natural high from contrast hydrotherapy itself.

Can I bring my dog?

Unfortunately not. As we are a establishing nature and bird sanctuary, we have a no dog policy to protect the wild life. Thanks for your understanding.

Can I get a natural high?

Yes you can. When we sauna, our body releases a hormone when under stress (heat) called dynorophin to help cool us down. This natural chemical reaction also creates a sensitivity to endorphins, which is the 'happiness hormone', reducing stress, relieving pain and makes us 'feel good'.

Can I go with a group of friends?

Of course you can! Maximum booking size per transaction is 8 people with the community sessions. If you are looking for a private experience for your work team, business, birthday celebration, wedding or cooperate event, best to get in touch and we can upgrade your experience.

Can I sauna in the nude?

Yes you can, if you feel comfortable to. We are in favour for the traditional European practices of nude sauna  -it's incredibly liberating when you get past self judgement. All we ask is that you consider others when de-toweling inside the sauna.

However in saying this, most people choose to wear bathers.
Please consider the materials you sweat in as you don't want your skin absorbing synthentic materials. Cotton or bamboo is recommended.

How do I get there?

Look us up on google maps and follow the welcome sign! 59 Boyd Road, Kawarau Falls, Queenstown.
At the end of the striaght long gravel road, there will be a gate and a 'Wellspace' sign. Drive down that road, keeping striaght and parking down in the field by the river.

What do I bring?
  • x2 towels. One to sweat one and one to dry yourself with afterwards. Towels can be hired for $4 each if you need one.
  • A water bottle. Fresh spring water is provided onsite. No plastic bottles to be taken inside the sauna.
  • Warm clothes for between rounds. Its recommended to bring a dressing robe for your own comfort.
  • BYO snacks and drinks
